"The world’s workshop" or the "city of a thousand jobs". Thes are some nicknames of Birmingham after that it was one of the leading cities of the Industrial Revolution in England.
Birmingham is located in the center of England, in the West Midlands conurbation. This is the third city after London and Manchester and has a population of 1,085,400 inhabitants (it is the second city in terms of population figures). The glorious and rich past of the city, especially during the 19th century is reflected in what remains of his monumental Victorian architecture and its art museum, which is one of the largest and richest in the country, with a remarkable collection English painting of the 19th century.
Cradle of Industrial Revolution, the Birmingham district is still an industrial center and one of the poles of the British car industry. The center of Birmingham meanwhile, named the Bullring, has been completely redeveloped twice in 50 years, the first time in the 60’s as a commercial center in the brutalist architecture, dedicated to the « all-auto automated », a second time at the beginning of the 2000s into a more harmonious mall, which astonishes with its architecture and its large pedestrian areas.
